15 Cutest Video Game Characters

Kirby-Wallpaper-kirby-5558995-1680-1050

Video games are saturated with bullets, gore, often times an insatiable urge to destroy, explode, or impale the nearest thing towards you. While intense action is always welcome in my gaming repertoire, at times I’d rather be entertained by the soft, fluffy, cute, and cuddly. Here are the cutest video game characters of all time (in no particular order).

Kirby (Kirby Series)

If round, pink, soft, and squishy aren’t adjectives describing a cute video game character then I need to reevaluate my vocabulary. Fortunately most of us agree Kirby’s is one of the most adorable additions to the gaming world.

Chibiterasu (Okamiden)

An all-white puppy is cute enough as it is. Add the power to control nature and he’s a winner in our books.

Lumas (Mario Galaxy Series)

One of the cutest newbies to the Mario universe, these little guys have the ability to transform into galaxies. Cute and functional.

Chocobo (Final Fantasy Series)

If Big Bird had an RPG cousin it would be the Chocobo. These little yellow birds are an icon of the Final Fantasy series and have a special place in my heart. If KFC coated Chocobos in 11 herbs and spices I might have to boycott fried chicken.

Pikachu (Pokemon Series)

Only in the world of Pokemon would it be cute to have a giant electric mouse as a pet. But hey we’ll roll with it as long as it doesn’t launch any lightning our way.

Sackboy (LittleBigPlanet Series)

This little ball of yarn comes in every flavor and fashion. While cute enough on his own, who can resist a little guy that can take on the appearance of any character and in the cutest way possible?

Servbot (Megaman Legends)

If legos could wash your dishes and clean your house they would live up to the Servbot’s legacy. I would love to have an army of these pint size robots around, and it doesn’t hurt they they are amazingly cute as well.

Toad (Mario Series)

Mushrooms are known for their nutritional content and sometimes…psychedelic effects. If someone told me that a walking, talking mushroom man spawned from the ground, I would say you’ve had too many mushrooms.

Pikmin (Pikmin Series)

Nearly representing every color of the rainbow, Pikmin are some of the hardest working cuties on this list. They outnumber their leader (Captain Olimar) 100 to 1 yet they stay by him often dying in the process. Loyalty or stupidity, we will never know.

Knives Chau (Scott Pilgrim The Game DLC)

Once an innocent school girl, Knives Chau became a butt-kicking femme fatale in the movie version of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. The game adaptation goes deeper into her knife throwing and ninja skills and hey who doesn’t like a girl that can hold her own.

Cow (Harvest Moon)

If the millions of kitty cat videos on YouTube tell us anything, it tells us that animals are cute. I wish cows looked like this in real life.

Bomb-omb (Mario Series)

A weapon of mass destruction has never looked so cute.

Chao (Sonic Series)

These little bundle-o-joys are cute now, but they will eventually grow up into feisty little muffins. Not literally of course.

Cooking Mama (Cooking Mama Series)

I usually wouldn’t comment on the appearance of someone’s mom, especially since I’m a girl. But there’s just something about a person that can cook everything from classic Italian to Japanese.

Bomberman (Bomberman Series)

Bomberman has come along way from his origins. One thing has always stayed the same however, his use of explosions to deliver fun…and cuteness.
